Safe / Not Safe

Strange puter problems.
Turned on puter and looks like SAFE MODE but it's not ( the word SAFE MODE is not in all 4 corners of the monitor)
Tried reinstalling ME - no luck.
Norton Systemworks doesn't work
Can't get to net
Tried the Selective Startup - don't know what's up with that.

The MS white page speaks to starting in SAFE mode or not being able to start in SAFE MODE - I don't know what mode I'm in.

Howdy and welcome to CTH:

Sounds like you need to re-install the video card drivers, or

just adjust the resolution to something better than 640x480 (800 x 600 should do)..

Thanks for the welcome.
I tried every resolution and nothing changed. 2B honest, it seems to be more than a video issue but will give anything a shot. Do I resintall from my disks (original)?

Here's another thing - if I run msconfig and choose to use 'Selective startup" option and not the "normal" choice I lose my mouse abilities and after I startup 3 minutes later I get a error that SYEVNT.386 is not loaded (Something to do with Norton Antivirus) and my puter then freezes.

The drivers will either be on the systemboard cd you got with the system or you may have togo to the manufacturers website and get them from there..

What does the "Display Properties" say now??
