Well, my comp is still unstable as hell.. =(
but anyway, for some reason when i reformat everything works good fer about an hour, then.... it starts to deterorate...
ill get one error, then another, then stuff will stop working, everything stops working, crashing every 5 miniutes,
im very close to doing a low level format....
Would this be the cause of a virus or poorly configured hardware?

/me stabs comp with screwdriver

Why not try an onlime virus check. Go here and let it check your system.

Then check this site for startup items that you can disable. To disable them, go to start>run and type in msconfig Then click ok and then startup tab.

Yeah.....
I think i found a fix fer it. My soundcard is IRQ 10, its a ISA soundcard and weird enough it was set to PCI in the CMOS, so i switched i IRQ 10 to ISA, since it was set to PCI.. hasnt crashed since, might just be a lucky day tho.

Hi seal,

Don't know if my ideas will help, but perhaps they could be eliminated as reasons for puter instability.

If the problem starts after an hour, it could be due to cpu heating. If the cooling fans in both power supply and cpu heat sink(if there is one) (or the vents in the tower are blocked) are dirty with dust and perhaps pet hair heating could be the problem.

Shut down the unit and unplug, remove the cover and place an external fan to blow on the tower chassis. turn on the fan and boot up. If you do not experience any instability then heating is more than likely the problem.

If instability happens do the shutdown unplug routine, and taking static precautions, reseat the memory modules, and try again.

Hope this helps, at least these can be eliminated as the source of the instability problem.

Good luck
