Internet Timing Out

So a few days ago I got Verizon DSL. I set it all up and got my wireless network working. But there is one problem, whenever somone calls us or whenever we call someone, the internet on my computer, which has the wireless internet, stops working. But the internet on the computer which has the modem and router directly wired to it works fine. The computer with the router and modem is running Windows 2000 and my computer is running XP. The router is a Netgear Mr814v2 and my adapter is a netgear MA101 USB adapter. Thanks!

Do you have a spare microfilter to try out ? When you pick up your phone do you hear any distortion (hissing or buzzing) as well as the dial tone ?

I don't have any spare microfilters, but I do have one on every phone line, and no I don't hear any distortion when I pick up my phone.

Is the phone a cordless? I haven't seen it myself but have heard that sometimes a cordless phone can cause issues with a wi-fi router.

We do have some cordless phones but I don't know if it is a wi-fi router.

A USB adapter to the network.

Its because of the cordless phone, it must be 2.4ghz cordless phone and router use the same signal.

What you need to do is unplug all cordless phone to make sure that is those phone. If yes, go get a 5.8ghz phone

I had to update my cordless home phone system to 5.8 ghz phone system even with a hard wire setup(verizon and router,pci nec card)problem:could'nt hear the person talkin,upgraded to 5.8 ghz no more problems
