Cannot find server

I have been trying to register with Upromise.com and have not been able to do so. It keeps saying cannot find server. It also says I may need to adjust my browser settings. I also have noticed that I can no longer access my paypal account. Same thing here. What can I do? I really want to sign up with upromise.

Hi LMG31297 - they are both secure sites so you may have a problem with your settings or it could be a corrupt file. You dont say what browser you are using but I'll assume that its IE5.

Open IE and go to Help > About Internet Explorer and make sure that the Cipher Strength is 128 bit. If it is, go to Tools > Internet Options > and click on the Advanced Tab. Scroll down and make sure that "Use SSL 2.0" and "Use SSL 3.0" are both checked. If all of the above is OK, you may need to replace Schannel.dll. Hi again LMG31297 - Microsoft have a fix documented here (http://216.239.33.100/search?q=cache:lxzlWtxShwoC:support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q261/3/28.asp+Cipher+strength+0-bit&hl=en&ie=UTF-8) . (sorry, I had to post Googles snapshot. It looks like MS are down). Let us know how you get on.
