Wink Post computer details

Hi perplexed

Maybe if you were to post some of the puter details, make, model, cpu, speed, memory. Also if there are any messages displayed when you encounter the shutdown problem? When did the problem start? Any of this information would help others diagnose and perhaps suggest a cure for the problem you are having.

Take care, hope someone is able to help

Hi perplexed, how's the temperature down in Misssis...Misisss...Missiissiiss
...downsouth?

When is the last time you updated your Windows98? Go to
Windows Update and get any critical updates showing. They
also have a shutdown update there for Windows98...make sure
you get that.

7:43:04 PM Thursday, July 11, 2002 : 5393

Q320920: Security Update (Windows Media Player 7.1) - version 7,10,0,3068 - was successfully installed.

Did I miss anything I just have to have?

One question though? Do I shut down and restart after each update? I did it after the first critical update but I installed the sound one and the shut down one at the same time and rebooted after that.

Thanks to you both and yes it is hot here

Even if not prompted to reboot, you should.

You never mentioned if the shutdown problem was fixed.

Hi perplexed - you can do this if you are using Outlook Express. Open OE and click on the Message Menu. Go to "New Message using" then "Stationery". Now click on "Create New". The Stationey Setup Wizard will open and offer you a number of options including inserting your graphic file. Have fun

You add the code...
[ img ] path_to_picture [ /img]

[ img ] and [ /img] must have no spaces, so it would be [img]

You need the picture to be on the Web somewhere. You can use mine...
