You might have a problem here, as it is my experience that these "quick restore" disc have password protection on all the files(Cab) you would need to access. This would normally mean that you would have to go through the restore process to rectify your problem.
What I would suggest is for you to post more detailed info on what is wrong and people may be able to provide a simpler cure, such as provide or point you to the required files.

If you need to upgrade those files, you mite be able to use these two applications to do so. ASPI driver version test (http://www.mediamatrixes.com/mp3-cd-extractor/aspi.htm) ASPI driver upgrade (http://www.adaptec.com/cgi-bin/license-download.pl)
Hope this help you out.

Also, you probably have the cabs on the hard drive. These are a source of all Windows files. When running SFC, this is the restore from path.
C:\windows\options\cabs
But I don't know which version you have. Running the ASPI layer test is a good idea.
Sometimes the Windows files from the install CD are used and sometimes the Adaptec files. So even if you had tried the disk, you might have installed the incorrect file or file version.

This is a problem caused by poor software writing. If the program is written properly a newer version should not be replaced with an older version. Something you have installed recently has probably done it.
Also as Mosiac said, using the one from your CD will more than likely replace it with an even older version.
Try Ghost's suggestion.
