I know that the main reason for a router is to have the ability to share Internet access across a network. I friend just bought a new Mac laptop that has a wireless card installed. He was asking me what kind of wireless router to get since I have a Mac also. But, he is still on dial up. The only reason he wants the router is to use it wirelessly. I know this is a dumb question, but, can you use wireless with dialup? I thought it was a broadband thing.

Taking a risk that I might get shot for refering to a post on another forum...
Take a look at this thread http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6142-0.html?forumID=62&threadID=29073

This thread covers your question. As you said you are a MAC user, I'll pass on one little tidbit I got from the thread. The Apple AirPort Extreme offers dialup support. ;) That should bring a smile to a Mac user.

BTW here is the link to the AP extreme (http://www.apple.com/airportextreme/home.html)
