trouble with network connection

I am having trouble logging on to my work from home. At home I am using XP Home,work laptop is using windows 2000.I using cable modem & router (SMC 7004ABR).I am logging into work via VPN (Safenet SoftRemote).When I log in through VPN it says I am connected but I when go to check exchange for mail or login to work server (Citrix Metaframe) it won't let me in.Provided my IT a screen of the IP Config and he says everything is fine-but it does not work!

If you need a screen shot of IP Config, how do I copy and paste it here when I have it saved in My Documents.

It seems to me there one small piece missing in order to connect.
