I am trying to get windows ME to "see" my printer plugged into my USB hub in front of my computer, any hope?

Hello eshinault, welcome to the community.
Try this:
Uninstall the printer software that you have on the system, and restart your computer.
Reinstall printer software, restart your computer again.
Plug in your USB Printer and Windows should search for the drivers and install them.
