Hi all,
I burned a CD with Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum on my machine running XP, and i'm almost certain i closed the session and CD, now, im at another workstation running 95, and i cant get the CD-ROM to recognize that there's even a cd in the drive (i really need the data on the CD by the end of the week and this is the only computer i have access to...) any help would be appreciated

Usually the problem lies in the Cdrom itself. It is most likely to Old to recognize the disc.
How old is the Cdrom? Most likely with that system running Win/95 the Rom is pretty old. If that is the case, there is nothing you can do short of buying a new Cdrom to put in that Computer. Sorry I dont have any good news for you. |

Hi, I would say the Cdrom isn't to old then. Yes your right, the next step is to get Roxio. Atleast that way if the session is closed or not, you will be able to view whats on the CD and use it.

hi
I truly hope this may help http://www.roxio.com/en/support/udfw...inupdates.html XP has evolved away from older standards... a drag and drop burn, and closed session in XP, is still not the same as the ISO standard win 95 understands. I also hope you did not use overburn capacity, as this may not be supported by the reader you have in your 95 machine. (even if it is a burner) since you cannot do a new burn, the worst case would be that your 95 machine reader has problem with the brand of disc (what's is commonly called reflectivity can be an issue.)
