ok.. i think this is the best place for this, but i'm not sure. anyway, i set up a computer recently in our exercise room, next to the tread mill, so we can read news or whatever and exercise. anyway, whenever the treadmill is running, the internet doesnt work, neither does the wireless keyboard. my only idea was EMI.. so i moved the computer, about 4 feet away, and it fixed the keyboard problem, but the itnernet still didnt work.. any ideas? solutions?

Will the computer get internet from any where in the room? If not check the connection in that room.

yeah the internet works fine, i'm using that computer right now. the only time it doesnt work, is when the treadmill is running. i think it might be the EMI from the motor..

It very well could be, but when you for example have the treadmill on and the computer on does it just not get internet or does the computer as a whole not work? EMI that only takes out the internet is and nothing else is kinda odd.

You could try if you don't already have one to use cat5 thats STP instead of UTP. Outside of that its just very odd.

yeah its a really weird problem.. we're still workin on it, but the computer is just really sensitive to RF i think, we put the LCD monitor ontop of it, and it didnt work then either.. so we're tryin a bunch of different sheilding and stuff. thanks for the help
