i recently downloaded a movie.. it came with a subtitle file and i dont know how to use it.. vcl player says it automatically detects subtitle files and plays thme but it didnt.. and i also tried manually opening it with File>open file.. and then when the video starts playing.. this messege box pops up..

The Message is saying that it can't and it won't because you got no Xvid codec.

i installed both xvid and divx codecs just to make sure and still get that same error box

i noticed that there are two other types of files in the folder that i downloaded with the movie..

im sure those .idx files that are shown as "documents" have something to do with the problem im having.. right? :hmm:

Yes, I think you have the set of files that create a VCD. Maybe try using them to burn a VCD in Toast.

thx but i couldnt figure it out.. i decided to buy the original dvd instead.. i appreciate the help though :)

Well at least you end up doing the right thing, and the bonus is that the one you buy will be very good quality compared to the one you could have made that would have been almost unwatchable. :blush: :wave:
