I accidentally uninstalled a program. Afterwards, my graphics are grainy looking, ie, wallpaper, icons and pictures. Would anyone happen to know the name of the program I uninstalled? Could this have anything to do with my graphics driver? Thanks for your help.

Most probably you accidently uninstalled your video drivers. You'll need to reinstall them to fix your problem. You don't say which computer you have so we can tell you where to get the drivers. Do that, then someone will tell you where to find the correct driver from.

We don't close topics here, future readers may find this thread and read it.
Did you get fixed?
Do you need some more help?
Dell Dimension 4400 drivers here (http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=DIM_PNT_P4_4400&os=WW1&osl=EN)

I have a Dell Dimension computer (desktop).
The model is 4400.
The Operating System is Windows 2000 (it states built on NT technology).
It appears that her graphics driver has been inadvertently uninstalled (or, simply deleted)...not sure which? As a result, her wallpaper, icons and pictures now have a grainy appearance. Anyway, is a graphics driver the same as a video card/driver...are these the same as a vga...is this the same as a display driver? Also, fyi...when you right click on the screen, click properties, click settings, click advanced, click adapter...it states "unavailable" for each item in Adapter Information (e.g., chip type, dac type, memory size, adapter string, bios information).
We have been on the Dell and Microsoft web sites trying to find info on a compatible adapter, as well as getting it downloaded.
We downloaded a couple of drivers that were supposedly compatible...NVIDIA Geforce3 Ti 200 and NVIDIA Geforce3 Ti 500. Dell referred to them as video card drivers. Unfortunately, we really do not know the type of driver that came with her unit.
The downloaded drivers do not show up on the Add or Delete Program listings...should they? The old one that was uninstalled/deleted showed up on this listing as a Display Driver.
Once downloaded, does a driver have to be configured or started...if so, how?
Needless to day, we can't get it working. If it is working correctly, shouldn't it show up on the adapter tab (see #4 above).

Download and install this utility called Everest. After installation, click on the plus sign (+) beside Display in the left hand window, next highlight in the same window, the entry for GPU, come back here and tell me what it says and I will find a driver that is needed for that 4400.

The problem usually is because Dell lists more than one driver and more than one graphics card, so you need to know exactly which card is in that system, that's where Everest comes in handy.

I would like to THANK everyone for their support. It was a graphics driver. I was able to find the correct one via Everest. I installed it from the Dell web site. Thanks, again.
