UPDATE:

The only thing creaming about Shane Warne is the years supply of cakes he keeps in his locker.;)

If we play cricket anything like England played footer last night we should just give them the damn Ashes and hold a farewell party! :curse:  :sarcastic
But it's still early days yet; who knows, maybe a giant lizard from the planet Dracc will swoop down and carry the Aussies away :rotflmao:

Jere, stick to rounders mate LOL!

The "Bleached Whale", whilst being possibly the greatest cricketer ever (well he's certainly up there with Sir Garfield, Beefy Botham et al), he is an obnoxious [Edit] who really needs a good kicking!

This last test is setting up to be a great finish to a fantastic series, hope the weather doesnt force the draw and the series is won on a real result.

Oh no, the blubbering bleached whale out for a duck  Go to CTH Gallery to see my homage to Warney (think I overdid the rouge, though).

fantastic mornings cricket, some astounding wickets taken. Lets hope the lads can bat out all of Monday.

Phew, that was a pretty good finish. Sadly, Richie Benaud has hung up his mike.

Before you Aussies have a pop at our very own Seth Efreekaan hero, Kevin Pietersen, we all remember the wonderful contributions you guys had from old Kep Wessels ;-)

What I found very heartwarming was the genuine congratulations given to Pietersen by Warney when he hit his maiden ton. Perhaps the bleached whale isn't such a divot after all, giving such a chivalrous gesture in the face of defeat.

To see such an intense battle played over the whole summer in such a genuine atmosphere of sportsmanship and friendship shows some of our other pro sports and sportsmen to be a bunch of shallow poseurs.

erm... they are best mates and play for the same county. It should be expected :)

duh! like they played for Haaaaaaaaaampshire together for so long? Knew that. Just most Aussies get seriously arsie when they are losing or under the kosh. And I'd had a pop about him to Neddy in a previous thread just before the Lords test (although Mr Seagoon was BF in those days).
The comment was aimed more towards the fact that cricketers show proper sportsmanship that we rarely see in this day and age.

I'm not even a cricket fan. I just watch Sky Sports News and listen to Talk Sport alot.

Peiterson said the other day on air that Warne was his best mate. That's where I got it from.
Warne has been pretty respectful of England in his recent interviews. Maybe he's mellowing out in his twilight.

hmmmmmm, funny you should mention that! He became less brash as the series progressed

Not a keen cricket fan, only go to Sophia Gardens or St Helen's once or twice a year for one dayers myself. All other males in my family are longterm rabid fans of Glamorgan.
Get to play down Rest Bay with the Lifeguards about 3 times a year though, excellent way to build up a thirst ;)

Congratulations to the England team. ;)

Thank you Ned.
We've been in the doldrums for so long, we forgot how sweet the taste of success was.
Or judging by Freddie being interviewed on the open top bus, we'd forgotten how strong some beer is ;-)

Can you believe it? Some of these plonkers in the media are having a go at the lads for being bladdered during the procession and presentation! I think after showing good grace and sportmanship on the field for the best part of 25 days, they can have a few beers and a laugh at the end of it.

I agree, now all we need is for Vercades mob to put together a team and dream up a way to change the rules so they can put up a challenge for the ashes, in the same sort of way that Australia broke the hold on the Americas cup. :D
