due to the numerous problems my computer has,i have decided to take it down(uninstall everything and install it all back the way it was when i first got it.) in hopes that it solves some of the problems.however, after i insert the right disk to do so,the computer never reads it,thus doing nothing. it says its supposed to restart and a menu is supposed to pop up prompting you to chose to restore it. that menu never comes up!! i have tried countless times already this past weekend...please help me!!

If it's a CD you wish to boot from, you may need to go into the BIOS setup (usually hold down the DEL key when you switch on or do a restart) and set the FIRST BOOT DEVICE to CD-ROM. The first BIOS page has a list of different sections. Just highlight each section and press ENTER (ESC to get back to first page) till you see the page that has the boot settings. If it's a floppy disk you are trying to boot from, same applies but in this case set FIRST BOOT DEVICE to FLOPPY. When you've done that, press ESC key, then F10 (usually) then you should see "Save Changes and Exit? Y/N". Make sure 'Y' is underlined or highlighted, then press ENTER. Your PC will restart and it should now boot from the drive you set in the BIOS settings.

are you sure it's the DEL key i hold down?? i tried this several times and nothing came up about the BIOS setup. i'm supposed to have the disk in the drive right?is there another way to access the BIOS setup?? do any programs/settings need to be disabled before doing this?? thanks for all your help.
