Not much experience with Mac and Need Major Help!!!

Hi there!
At work here we have a Mac and well we are trying to get it to go on the internet, but we cant seem to find the browser... We have tried to download the IE version for Macs (on a PC) and put it on a flashdrive, but now it needs some kind of winzip type tool and we are unaware of what that would be..
I am wondering if someone out there could help us out. We just need to get this thing so that it will connect to the internet through our network. I have heard of Safari being a better Mac browser, but again not familar with it or anything.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Mac OS 9
We think it is a G4, but we are do dumb with macs that we dont even know how to tell that!! :)

Ok, sorry but I only know OS X. Maybe someone else here can help with OS 9?

Download IE 5.2 for Mac OS9. And download the free stuffit expander from www.stuffit.com Put them both on the Mac. User stuffit expander to extract the IE archive.
