Virus Scan Sucks

I decided to use the free Anti-Virus software off the Internet that can be found here: http://www.free-av.com
Because Norton was slowing down my computer too much.

Well when I went to run the virus scan, It said some files were infected, most restart computer to delete them....
"Lets see,,,,if I restart my computer it want come back on!!!!"

So I did, and lucky me:mad:

I just finished reformating my Hard Drive,,,,

Y would that Anti-Virus be soo stupid????

If whatever virus it was had infected enough Windows sytem files in an un-cleanable manner, any A/V would struggle to fix without a Windows reinstall.

You should not have needed to reformat.

I thought one was needed, when my computer refused to load Windows, nor would it come on in safe mode....

What other way is there????

Well my first step would have been overinstall and see how it worked. Then if still no good, reformat and install clean.
