Hi everyone!

I hope that someone can help me with my system. I have an old computer with
windows 98SE, I upgrade the motherboard(P2L97-DS) purchase 7/05. Use pentium 2(new). After this upgrades I decided to upgrade the power supply.
After making all the connections to motherboard, CD-ROM, floppy drive, etc...
Turn on the power supply, push the on button to power up the system, and
then pow!! the tower system started smoking!.. and I mean smoking, and with
this excitement I pull the power cord from behind the power supply.
After I got the room clear from all the smoke, check what burn and found that it
was the floppy drive, replace with new and then power up the system, my system turn on by my switching on the switch at the back of the power supply.
turn it off(power button on the case) turn off the power switch on the power
and then turn it on again. the system power up and not by the on power button on the case. does this mean that the motherboard is short and that
needs to be replace(again). and to top it off the video card doesn't work.
please!! anyone out there could help me:(

Desprate for serious help:disgust:

Howdy bnrr,
Sounds pretty serious, and this would be best posted at the CTH Hardware forum. If this is the same pc you are asking about Here (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88905) Let us know so folks won't follow up on that request right now. Good luck.
