major problem with win98
an .exe file i downloaded seems to have taken over every program icon on my system.
the only icons i can double click on the desktop are the my computer icon and internet explorer. i ran trendmicro's housecall and it deleted some viruses... but it didnt' fix the problem. i tried redownloading adaware and crapcleaner to see if that would work, but i coudn't access them either. when i go into control panel and click add/remove programs i get a message that says access to the specified device, path or file is denied. also i found the .exe file i had originally downloaded and deleted it. Now anytime i double click an icon or program file is says that the .exe file i deleted is needed for opening files named 'application' can anyone help me out? i have no idea what to do. So what did you download and install?? Where did you download it from?? Have you posted a HiJackThis log in the Cyber Safety forum?? Murray
