Howdy michelle51771,
A little delayed response here. A few quick questions and we'll see how CTH can assist.
Are you wanting to "repair" the problem, or start fresh with a new 98SE installation (my recommendation)?
Is the CD an installation or an upgrade copy?
Do you know what version of Windows is already installed?
Regardless of the choice you will need a startup disk. If you don't already have one, click on the BootDisk link below, and download the 98SE bootdisk file to a folder on your computer. Then put a clean floppy in the drive, and click on the downloaded file, and allow it to create a bootdisk on the floppy.
Don't do anything more with the disk until you have posted back here some responses, and someone then should be able to walk you through what you want.
