Registry Problem

I have an IBM Think Pad with Win 95. It will get past the splash screen but then I get a message that I have a Registry problem. I've clicked "Restorefrom Backup" but nothing happens. I inserted a Win 95 startup CD (no A drive) but nothing. Control-Alt-Delete won't restart it and I have to use the On/Off buton. It works but then Scan Disk runs upon restart.

What to do (how to get it to boot up)
