Mysterious CF drive appearing

Hi there. I found this post in another thread, and it's happening to me, too...

"Hi everybody. Ive got a little problem. I isnstalled a new video card yesterday, everything went fine. Went to my computer and i fine i have a new removable disc listed. I dont have one. I went to device manager to see and this is what it says. "OEI-USB CF/SM/SD/MS USB Device". How can i remove this device which I dont have."

The only thing is, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with my vid card... We've had this vid card for about 2 months (NVidia GeForce FX 5500 OC) and this "Compact Flash" drive keeps coming and going...even before the new vid card. Sometimes you turn on the PC and it's there, sometimes it's not.

I've thought maybe it was some kind of spy/adware or a virus, but I've run all my scans, and even repaired my registry, and nothing...

I can disable it in device manager, and that's all well and good, but would still like to know where it came from, and if it does happen to be a virus or something, get it off my PC...

Anyway, any help or info anyone could give me would be appreciated. Thanks

Right-mouse click it in Device Manager and Uninstall.

Registry programs are a nightmare and should not be used.
I'll have to ask, what program did you use to do that?
