I know this has been addressed before, but I am a complete novice at computers. I am just trying to get it set up correctly for my daughter. All the songs and media that we try playing sounds like chipmunks, and is really fast. I have tried downloading the correct drivers for my specific dell model and operating system, I have tried and tried numerous times, but it still does not work, so I am a stuck and don't know what to do. Any help would be appreciated, do I have to erase all of my audio drivers before I can install the new ones, or maybe even just some of them. It is all confusing and i feel like an idiot. Thanks guys, again I apologize because I know this topic has been addressed before, but I could not get anything to work still.

What program are you using to play music ? What type of music file ? MP3 ? wav ? Sounds like a bad codec (aka the player is not decoding the file properly). If you are playing MP3 files, try using a program like winamp (available freely at www.winamp.com (http://www.winamp.com)).

Good luck

What is the source of these audio files? Are they cd's or mp3's or what? Does the audio even sound that way when watching video?
