Hi
I am trying to edit a graphic on Macromedia Fireworks MX so that the background is transparent.
I have used the Magic Wand Tool to highlight and delete the white parts (background), however they still appear when the file is inserted to Dreamweaver :disgust: (which is what I am trying to achieve).

How am I able to edit my graphic so that there will be no white background?

I'm not terribly familiar with either apps (I do use Flash though), how are you inserting the file? Saving it as an image, it needs to be saved as a .gif image to have a transparent bg. Inserting as a vector graphic (like you do with Flash movies), I don't think you can get any transparency.

some images dont support transparent backgrounds
the most comon image types that do support it are gif png and eps
but i.e. does not support png transparency.
jpgs tiff do not have any transparency
but you can create an illustion by making the white the color of the background of your web page if it is a solid color
