\WINDOWS\system32\config\SYSTEM?
my daughter used an e machine windows xp restore cd version 1.2 on her hp pavilion6355 because it froze up and she did not read the small print on the cd , so it took all 3 cd's and when she went to reboot this popped up and now i don't now what to do . any idea's? no she never made a back up disk either... thanks tom

Howdy TOM82,
Assuming you are talking about both systems being XP, why not post this request at the CTH XP forum for the best ideas on solutions. Make sure you detail the exact error message, and any changes that were made prior to the HP freezing up.

XP is so flaky, most people I know do not like it. Win98 has it's probs but is more stable IMO, but anywho here is a link about that from MS.
