Red face I need help!!!!

Ok My computer is real old and I had it for a long time and I want to give it to the kids, but my problem is that it has windows 95 on it but I can't seem to get it running again. Before it had errors on it and I wanted to fix them but it won't load up. Every time I turn it on it says Insert system diskette and press enter key to reboot. I don't have the disk anymore, can someone help me please.

Welcome to CTH.

I think you need to (1.) create a boot disk and (2.) use it to transfer the system files onto your computer.

Go here: http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm . Download the Windows 95 original boot disk file (boot95a.exe) onto your computer. Insert a fresh floppy diskette into your computer. Run boot95a.exe . This should create your boot disk.

Insert the boot disk into the computer we're trying to fix, then turn the computer on. When you get as far as the "A:\>" prompt type "sys c:" without the quotation marks then press the Enter key.

Once the system is transferred, remove the boot disk and restart the computer. Hopefully this will allow your computer to load up and you won't have to reinstall everything from scratch
