Hey guys. I've got an HP CD-Writer 9100b cd-rom burner. It's pretty cool but it doesn't work! I put a CD in it and it doesn't recognize it. All the cables are good, but I think I might need software for it. Anyone know where I could get some if that is the problem? I checked and couldn't find any.
Thanks again.

Is the burner recognized in the device manager? If it is, right click on it and choose properties. Check it's status and drivers. If not, Windows is not seeing it. There could be a problem with the burner. Another thing you could do would be to boot into the BIOS(CMOS)setup and check it's status there. It should be listed. If it's not listed you should be able to do an auto. detect. Again, if the computer doesn't see it, there's probably a mechanical problem with the burner.
