help something is missing

i hope someone can help me i was told to come that you can do wonders my cp is missing this

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Javasoft\Java runtime\environment\1.5.0_01
from the registry where or how can i get it back it is driving me mad !!

Hi -

Did you just recently remove the Java runtime from your PC?

If not, you can do a registry restore. Try restarting your computer in DOS mode. Once you're on the DOS prompt (you should see something like C:\WINDOWS>), type in "SCANREG /RESTORE".

You will be asked to choose from a list which of the registry backups you would like to put back. They're sorted by date, so if the problem was fairly recent, you can just use the one with the most recent date.

Please post back to let us know what happened -- the more senior members of the forum might also be able to help.

it work it is like it used to be what happen was i ran housecall and it found a thing that makes yourpage start up as search for or blank it removed it with the file i guess because it locked up and i could not even bring up desktop so i was reloading everything it kept saying that it could not find back up it was a mess so thank you so much!!!!
