Why when you open C:\Windows\temporary internet files

And select all files and delete them

Not all the files are showing or deleted

What does not show is the subdirectory \content.IE5
and all its subdirectories

\OT6JSP26
\FJ6H45HT

Also I have two files in the C:\windows\temporary internet files

both are .wmv files (video clips?) both do not show up in the directory.

I have 'Show all files' enabled

These files and directories are visable to programs like 'necrofile' and image viewers like acdsee so why doesn't Windows show them?

Howdy wig,
Take a look at the second bullet item Here (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=301057). Similar description and has a work around.

That is similar, thank you, but I fear it will not cure the whole problem, namely, the fact that:

\temporary internet files\content.IE5 does not show in windows (explorer?)

and all it's subdirectories
\8PER45RE..........

These are viewable when you right click on "my computer" on desktop select 'find' and browse the directory temporary internet folder.

Take a look Here (http://windowsxp.mvps.org/deltifonexit.htm). Scroll down to the Sysinternals program download, and the reasons why it might prove useful for IE Temp files issues.
