ibm 300pl linux
i got a ibm 300pl and i tried to load knoppix on it but it didnt work and i found out that it cant boot off a cd. i made a floppy with the ubuntu boot files but it still didnt start. i got the error message: remove all disks and other media, press any key to restart. i am totally confused. what do i do now?

You're trying to load knoppix with an ubuntu boot disk? (that might not work). The error you recieved sounds like you didn't make the boot disk correctly (as it couldn't boot from it). What did you use to make the bootdisk?
Something else you might want to try (that worked with an older dell laptop I have) is grab a Smart BootManager floppy and use that to boot to a cd.
