View Full Version : Slave drive registers in BIOS but not in Win 98

I have a 15 gig master drive and a 4 gig slave drive. I bought a new 80 gig hard drive, set the jumper correctly, and replaced the old 4 gig slave drive with it. The new slave drive registers in the BIOS, but not in Windows 98 SE. It only recognizes the C: and now no D:
The other slave worked fine. Any ideas on how to fix this? I am running a PIII 733, 128mb RAM, blah blah blah. There should technically be no problem with running this new slave drive, and everyone I know is stumped. Tried different jumper settings, device manager, add hardware, etc.
Thanks a lot!

Howdy bigstinkymoose,
What method did you use to partition the 80gb drive? Check jtdoom's response Here (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86172) (response #4) for info on 98 and drives over 64gb.
