Operating System Not Found! Can't Get To A Command Prompt To Format!

Just had my hard drive formatted.
Trying to install Windows 98.
System will not read the floppy drive upon booting.
Boot device order set up so hard drive boots last and all other drives boot before.

Windows 98 disk in the CD drive and also have an Ultimate Boot Disk CD in my CD burner drive.
Computer will not read from either of these.
Simply boots up and then says "Operating System Not Found."

How can I install Windows 98 if I can't get to a command prompt?

If the floppy is searching (light comes on, the usual whirring sounds), it's possible it's the floppy disk itself. Make another boot disk and see if it works.

The most common cause of this problem is trying to boot a non-bootable floppy or hard disk, that is, a disk that has not been made bootable using the "FORMAT /S" or "SYS" commands. If this occurs on a disk that was already prepared to be bootable, it means that the operating system startup files have become corrupted. So as Miz suggested get a new disk.

Take out your CD's before you boot to the boot disk
