Unopenable pictures

I have a file full of pictures that i can view the thumbs on but cannot get access to with any photo programs. I have other folders that i hae no problems with. All the pictures are recognised as jpeg files and have proper file sizes so i don't think they are missing. I've tried to open then with windows viewer, adobe photo, exif viewer,ect. The pictures were taken with a sony mavica and the details on the file properties vary from the files in other folder that do work. Does anyone have any idea how to recover these files?

Try opening them with IrfanView, it's a very EASY to use image handler. I have it as my default, and it will make your picture viewing pleasures great. You can download it here; http://www.irfanview.com/main_download_engl.htm. Also, have you tried to open them in safe mode? or copy n pase them somewhere? Maybe, even try to eMail the files to yourself to see if they'll re-open.
