Permanent 640x480 16 bit color problem

After restarting, my display settings set themselves to 640x480 and refuse to change back. I immediately did system restore, and ran scandisk just in case, both seemed to accomplish nothing.

Monitor: Dell E772c
Adapter(As displayed in Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Adapter): S3 Trio64V2/DX (775/785)

Help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try reinstalling your video drivers, then see if you can change your settings.

I did the thing that closest resembles reinstalling in my mind, which is finding my ME startup disk, installing a different driver, and then installing the one I was using. It worked.
