Just put on WIN2000....sound driver help.

So I recently put WIN2000 on my Dell laptop which previously had ME.

It is my limited understanding that the nessesary sound drivers were part of the 2000 installation CD. Is this correct?

Also, I know I have some sort of ESS Maestro card but not sure exactly what. How can I find out? (dont bother calling dell).

Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge in the area can help out.

Thanks.
-Scott.

This is correct but it's not the only place to get drivers for Windows 2000.

In my signature (below) is Everest, download that and it will identify your make and model of audio card (chip) under...
left side
Multimedia
PCI / PnP Audio (click once)
right side has make/model

What Dell model is that? Should say on the front somewhere.

Your welcome.

Here are the rest of the drivers for a Dell Inspiron 8100 running Windows 2000

You should put that page in your Favorites list in your browser.
