OK, Heres the story, it might go on a bit, but I feel I need to explain!

I had windows ME on my laptop, but I wanted to experiment with XP, so (and I wish I hadn't!) I installed XP from an OEM disk I borrwed from my folks, I only put it on with the intention of removing it again, but I had to install it as a new installation, and so I don't have the unistall option. After installing, to my dismay, I discovered that I no longer have the restore disk that came with my laptop! And so, I set about creating a windows ME install disk from the CABS folder, (as I left the original windows installation intact, but can't get the system to boot to that O/S).

The problem is that 1) I can't seem to get to the CD from DOS, 2) I tried installing from the folder on the C: but it gets to 60% and gives and error that an SUWIN has a problem!

So, getting to the point, I want to try and format the hard drive, but am concerned that I won't be able to re-install ME from the CD I have, so as you can see, i have issues! Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am lost!!

I have managed to fix the above problem now! In case you were wondering, I had to re-name the media player files to allow the installation to complete, and was then able to create a win ME boot disk withCD rom support that allowed me to format the hard drive and re-install afresh!!
