I came to this site a while ago and it helped my computer greatly by running the program hijackthis. so i decided to come here again with a different problem. I have a GeForce 5500, not an awesome graphics card but it worked, i could play HL2 above 40 FPS at all times. But recently it has dropped to 15, i have not changed anything that i think would affect that. If anyone can help me out or have some tips in figuring out how to get the best of out a graphics card, it would help greatly. and just in case this gets asked, i have Windows XP SP2, AMD athlon 64 processor 3200+, 1 gig ram, Geforce FX 5500. thx again

Chances are good that if you got bitten by the spyware bug once, it might have happened again. Spyware can affect internet speed, PC access problems and general PC performance, among other things. Have you been actively scanning for spyware since your last problems? SpyBot - Search and Destroy and Microsoft AntiSpyware both provide realtime spyware protection, along with regular scheduled scans should keep your PC spyware free. You might want to run HijackThis again and get the Cyber Safety guys to help you once more.
