Can someone tell me if there is a way to format files from Arkose works to Microsoft Works? I just instaled Windows XP and my Arkose Works disk is for Windows 98 and will not work with XP. Is there any way I can get this program to work with XP?
Thanks,

JG

I've never heard of Arkose works, but what you will need to do is see what file types it can save files as, and see if any of those match what formats MS Works can save as (and therefore read). This is fine for a few files, but for many files it's going to be very tedious and I don't know of any way to automate it.

As for running Arkose on Windows XP, try running the main .exe file with Windows 98 compatibility (right-click->Properties->Compatibilty tab), or see if the maker provides a version that will work on XP.

You can also try using Word's "Recover text from any file" function.

To see if that can do the job, open Word, go to File>Open, navigate to the location of the AcroseWorks files and before opening one, choose "Recover text from any file (*.*)" in the drop-down list for "Files of type."
