how can i install?

i used ubuntu linux then i want to use an A4tech vedio Cam, can you give me a step by step instruction to install the driver of my vedio cam. i have here my cd installer..

The CD most likely wont have drivers that are usable.

What are you trying to do with the camera ?? Its a web cam i take it ??

to start with, copy and paste the output of:

hi

what im trying to say is that i have the installer of my vedio cam.. but i don't nkow how to install it in ubuntu Linux cause the autorun of my CD is not responding..commonly when I install it in the windows OS the cd run in auto run mode and it is easy to install the driver of my vedio cam.but in linux not..

Thats because that CD is for Windows, with Windows drivers. Not going to help us here at all. Just follow the steps i presented in my last post for us to start sorting out this device.

Ok you need to get open a terminal emulator open

Just go browsing through your Kmenu (bottom left hand corner) and look for one.
There's a few, could be any of:

Konsole
Xterm
RXvt

If using KDE, they are usually under System or More Applications.
