Smart_FTP generates errors and closes, Notepad closes when I go to File->Save As and doesn't save anything after that. WSFTP Pro has closed on me due to a GUI.exe or somthing like that generating errors. Yahoo Messenger doesn't work..it logs me in, tell me I have messages and then says YPager.exe has generated errors and shuts down. IE gives me IE has generated errors and will be closing. It lets me have a check in the box for Restart Internet Explorer and keep clicking Don't Send button and it eventually opens a browser.

I ran out of virtual memory, kept getting messages about it so I shut off my computer and when I turned it back on, I got the blue screen of death. I restarted it and it did a chkdisk and I was able to get back on and use my computer, but with all the error generation messages above. I don't know what else to do. I tried using Microsoft AntiSpyWare and Adaware and I just downloaded Avast! Antivirus which I am about to use now. If you have any ideas on whhat else I can do it is much appreciated!

I take it you didn't have a anti-virus program ay the time of the problem?
Run that an see what may come up.

Run that an see what may come up.:eek:haha, actually, right after I posted this, I downloaded that. I didn't have an anti-virus program at the time of the problem unfortunately. I ran it during the boot process and it found a trojan in several directories. I chose to delete them and the computer booted up fine and all, but I'm still getting those messages that IE generated errors. And when I do Save As in notepad, it closes completely out. Still cannot use Yahoo messenger either. YPager.exe generates errors. I don't think Avast fixed the problem.

Thanks,

Kristin
