hey guys,
here's the thing: i have a windows 95 computer i'm trying to fix, but i'm not sure what i need to do.

awhile ago, when i was young and ignorant, i was messing around with it and accidentally erased some files that obviously were necessary for it to run, because it never went past the black start up screen again.

now i'm trying to see if i can get it running again. i turned it on, and the screen told me that it couldn't boot from the harddrive or hardware, and that it couldn't boot from the floppy, which i didn't have in. so i went to bootdisk.com and i downloaded the boot files i needed and i tried it again. it's not taking in the boot files floppy. i'm thinking that it's probably still missing other files in the computer, but i'm not sure what they are, much less where to get them. can i get some help please?

thanks guys

Welcome to CTH.

Did you create the boot disk correctly?

Download the file from bootdisk.com onto your computer. Then insert a good blank floppy. Next, run the file to create the boot disk.

To use the boot disk, insert it before starting the computer.

Hope I didn't annoy you with things you already knew.
