Recently did some upgrades (CNET's CatchUp) and added some programs (Ad-Aware, No-Ads, Internet CleanUp). Got a message that sp.reg couldn't load. Found out from here that I could delete that with no problems.
System rebooted after that with no problem. My last attempt to boot up got me as far as the splash screen for WinMe and then notihng. The hard drive keeps spinning and making the same sound - like it's looking for something. Can't get to the desktop at all.
Tried booting into Safe Mode - no luck. The hard drive just keeps spinning and making a repetitive sound. I'm presently running ScanDisk to see if there are any hard disk errors. Also, ran scanreg.exe which found no registry errors.
I need a quick solution because I'm using a friends computer to write this. Please help!!!
