I don't really know what the just happened, but my powerbook G4 laptop not working right. I had about 20 GB still left on my hard drive out of 55. I was messing about with my final cut pro, trying to capture from my dv camera, but the computer kept freezing up so I have to restart a couple of times. After I restarted, it stated I only had 555 MB on my hard drive! Also, when I open Safari, my shock wave plug in is not working, so images aren't loading. I also can't open my aol or internet explorer. It says "The application "AOL/EXPLORER" could not be launched because of a shared library error: ".<AOL (Bootstrap)><CarbonLib><CFMPriv_System><>"

I have no idea what is going on with my computer. Any help would be appreciated.

You do not have any hard drive space. Video editing takes up a LOT of space. Find the Final Cut Pro file and delete it to free up hard drive space. Then restart.

I did delete Final Cut Pro, and did get my memory back. I still have the problem with my shock wave plug in and I can't open my aol and internet explorer. i have tried downloading a plug in again, but it will not even open to install.

You don't need to delete Final Cut pro, You need to delete the video file you were working on. Somehow I suspect you never purchased FCP because if you had paid for a $1000+ application, you'd be aware of how much hard drive space video uses.

No, I just have Final Cut Pro Express not the original. That's not the problem anymore though.

I ended up having to reinstall mac os x tiger, which fixed the problem. Before my computer came with mac os 9 classic, but it doesn't come with mac os x tiger. Is there somewhere that mac os 9 classic can be downloaded or do I have to reinstall my original 10.2.7 disk? That is the only reason I can think of for not being able to download new programs. For example, I just tried to download microsoft windows player and a codec for my quicktime, but it isn't recognized the file to open it. Thanks for the help.
