Internet lagging...

The past week or so, I've been noticing a lot of lag when I play games and when opening websites and stuff. It came on all of a sudden, and in the games, it's heavy lag and it appears to be getting worse. When I play, I don't have anything else running, but I am connected to a router, but nobody ever really uses that computer. Any ideas on what's going on?

What type of internet connection do you have "cable or dsl"? When is the last time you did a scan for viruses or spyware?

I'm using DSL, 10.0 Mbps, and I'm on a LAN. Last time I checked for viruses and spyware was approximately 10 days ago, and I ran My AV, my SpySweeper, and AdSweeper.

Well if you are sure that you don't have spyware or a virus then the next thing to look for would be the game server you are connecting to. Perhaps try a different server see if its less busy. Have you forwarded any ports for the games you are playing in the router?

I've played on 2 of the 4 servers, and they're the same, but it's not only the game, it's my internet in general. And I don't have any ports forwarded.

The past day or two it hasn't been as bad.

My email server has been slow as hell lately!!!!!
