Hi,
I can't connnect my wireless Thinkpad T40 to my cable broadband internet connection via Airport.
Currently I can share my internet connection between my G4 Powerbook connecting wirelessly via Airport + my IBM Thinkcentre desktop connecting via cable to Airport.
I have tried everything I can think of, including using the Windows XP's network setup connection wizard to no avail. The T40 recognizes the Airport network with excellent signal.
HELP!

I forgot to mention in my original post above that the T40 can connect to the internet via Airport using cable. So, the problem is in connecting to the Internet via Airport WIRELESSLY.
Thanks.

Are you running SP1 or SP2? Are you using the MS Wireless Zero Configuration tool? ARe you using WEP or WPA?

Hi, thanks for replying.
I'm still running SP1, no I havent used MS Wireless Zero Config Tool yet, and I using WEP. Do those factors make me unable to connect to the internet wirelessly via Airport?
I'll download SP2 & the Zero Config Tool now.

Apple says you should use the zero config tool from SP2. They also recommend WPA, especially in a mixed environment. Are you using 128-bit WEP?

I was able to download SP2 via Windows Update but somehow it failed to install. Will try to look at SP2's system prerequisites.
I hv another question regarding WEP (I use 40bit, btw). I specified my password on Airport Configuration, but when I input input that password on the Thinkpad to connect to the Airport network, it's never accepted; it says something like the password must be of certain length, hex format etc. When I input the exact same password on the Powerbook, it's accepted. When I leave the password field blank on the Thinkpad & hit enter, it says it's connected, but I can't browse the network at all. Does this mean I'm not really connected to the Airport Network yet?
I don't see WPA security option in Airport Config, only WEP (40 or 128 bit) and 'Not Enabled.'

for 40 bit WEP try a 5 letter password all around. If don't supply the password you are not really connected. (No password = no access)
