Knoppix Live doesn't see all partitions

Finally getting around to playing around with linux some and I went with the latest knoppix live DVD. It comes up on my PC fine and I can see my windows C partition, but can't see my other partitions on the same drive. What am I missing here?

Try using the terminal. Open it up, type su to become root, and check the output of 'fdisk -l'. It should list each partition as /dev/hd* and tell you what filesystem they are, etc. You can mount a single partition by first making a directory to mount it too (such as /mnt/win2k). You would do this by running (also as root) 'mkdir /mnt/win2k'. Now mount the partition (lets say it is /dev/hda3) by running 'mount /dev/hda3 /mnt/win2k'. That should do it.

No luck. Running 'fdisk -l' produces no output. I tried the brute force method of going through all the /UNIONFS/dev/hd* entries and mounting them, but hung the system really quick.

Any other ideas?

Which version of knoppix is this? If its 3.9 you might want to upgrade or downgrade, as it had some bugs.

Running 4.0, there's a new update that looks like it has some fixes in the UNIONFS area. I think I'll give it a try.

I know its been a few days, but I've been busy. I've gotten the latest version 4.0.2 downloaded, but not burned. I should get to it this weekend, I'll be busy till then as I am off to do some bottling to replenish the stash this evening and tomorrow, well some sampling might be in order

Hopefully, I'll get this taken care of sooner than later, till then the kids are enjoying the games right off the DVD.
