hi all..
trying to install Hawking Tech PN102TXA, 32-bit pci-bus 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Adapter on old Dell Dimension v400... pentium 2. Motherboard is Intel Model AR440BX. Version AA713801-210. Have it plugged in the slot and loaded the driver but have one question. In the install quide that came with it...it says the following.. "Attach the Wake-On-LAN cable (optional, for PCI 2.1 motherboard). If you require Wake-On LAN capability, attach one end of the 3 pin Wake-On LAN cable to the connector on the top edge of the card and the other end to the WOL connector on the computers motherboard." Soooo.. do i need this cable to be connected? I dont find the WOL connector on my motherboard. This is just a home pc I am trying to prepare for DSL hookup.
Also if I click on System -Network Adapters it shows up and says "The Device is working properly"... BUT I havent tried to connect to the net yet as Im waiting for DSL activation.
Anyway..Im wondering if I need to connect that Wake-On-Lan cable and if so where to look.
Im grateful for any help with this.

Welcome :)

No, you don't need it. It is a function for your PC to be turned on via a network.
