Deleting folders in Yahoo

My friend has W98SE and uses an yahoo e-mail account.
He has made too many folders in his account and wants to delete some of them.
He has emptied them according to instructions from Yahoo, then goes
to manage/edit,on that page he goes to the folder he wants to delete,
clicks delete and it does not, the other option "rename" does not work either.

I have WXP Pro, and using my computer I was able to delete his folders.
But that is not a solution for him, he likes to delete them from his PC.
Yes he has written to Yahoo help several times, but either these people
cant read or dont want to read - the answers he gets are ridiculous and
have nothing to do with his question.
I would appreciate it if somebody has any suggestions, thank you.
