configure wireless card

Hello i am trying to setup my laptop to be wireless,
I have got a "Dell Latitude c600" i am dual booting suse 9.1 pro and winxp the wireless card i have got is a "motorola notebook adapter wn825g" I know the card works as i am online with xp.
I used yast to download ndiswrapper,
Now i downloaded the window drivers for my motorola card which come in the form of .exe this is where im stuck as i dont really understand why iv downloaded them.any way i put the downloaded windows drivers in "my Documents"
I then opend a terminal and did. "ndiswrapper -i Motorola_WN825_WPC1810_6.0.3.EXE"
I then did "ndiswrapper -l" to see if it had installed the output was
"Motorola_WN825_WPC1810_6.0.3.EXE invalid driver.
If some one can throw some light my way it would be appreciated thanks

ndiswrapper -i Motorola_WN825_WPC1810_6.0.3.EXE is wrong. You have to use the *.inf file, not the executable (.exe). If you don't have a .inf file, you won't be able to get the card working with ndiswrapper.

I checked ndiswrapper's site, and found:

Quote:
Card: [Motorola] WN825G (V3) FCC ID: ACQWN825GV3
  • pciid: 14E4:4320, lspci -vb string is "Broadcom Corporation: Unknown Device 4320 (rev 3)" Windoze#*Driver: ./Motorola Utility Installer/Win/bcmwl5.{inf,sys}
  • Other: This card works with ndiswrapper 1.1 using supplied drivers on CDROM, though I'm sure drivers can be downloaded from Motorola(r) at http://www.motorola.com/broadband/networking
So, the driver on the cd should have the .inf file you need

Hello i went to the motorola site as i dont have a cd and downloaded the driver this is what was inside it,
master@linux:~/Documents/SP23107A> ls
bcm43xxa.cat bcmwl5.sys bcmwlntp.sys data2.cab Setup.ini
bcm43xx.cat bcmwld2k.exe bcmwlu00.exe ikernel.ex_ setup.inx
bcmwl5a.inf bcmwlhom.exe data1.cab layout.bin setup.iss
bcmwl5.inf bcmwlhom.ini data1.hdr Setup.exe sp23107
so i installed these 2 bcmwl5a.inf ,bcmwl5.inf
so now when i do ndiswrapper -l get this ouput
linux:/home/master/Documents/SP23107A # ndiswrapper -l
Installed ndis drivers:
bcmwl5 driver present, hardware present
bcmwl5a driver present, hardware present
linux:/home/master/Documents/SP23107A #
which i think is good but it stil dont work may be i should of installed one
thanks nige

i read that the driver i downloaded would only work with ndiswrapper 1.1-4.4 and i was using version 0.6-23 so i have upgraded to version 1.1-4.4
so know i do "modprobe ndiswrapper" and i get a new error
"FATAL: Error inserting ndiswrapper (/lib/modules/2.6.5-7.201-default/extra/ndiswrapper.ko):Operation not permitted."
Can anybody tell me what this means please
Thanks nige
