Internet Connection
Hi,
Main problem: I got a new computer today and I had broadband (Jetstream/telecom) on my old computer as my internet connection, now I have setup my new computer but I have no idea how to put my old internet connection on it; I also lost the jetstream disc ages ago (I'm not sure if that's relivant) so any help would be much appreciated and I suck with computers so please dumb it down for me. A question: Is there anyway to transfer my iTunes library to the new computer (with out having to add every single song again? And how do I transfer music from the old computer to the new one? Thanks a lot. |

Your best bet for setting up your internet connection is to call the ISP tech support and have them talk you through it.
For transferring files, you can either network the two computer together or burn the files to CD (if the old computer has a CD writer). To connect the two together, you'll need a network card (aka, "network adapter," "Network Interface card," "ethernet adapter") in both and a crossover cable or a router and network cables. If you plan to keep using the old computer, a router and cables is the easiest and will allow both computer to share the internet connections. Assuming your new computer has XP, there's good information on setting up a home network in the "Help and Support Center" on the Start Menu. |
